A record 61,722 people attended Wyndham City’s free, light-based experience LIT this month, with the event drawing visitors from across Wyndham and the west to Wyndham Park in Werribee.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said that the response to the free Council event had been remarkable.
“In its second year, we’ve seen attendance more than double and just as importantly we’ve also received terrific feedback from residents and visitors about the experience.”
“It’s been wonderful to see so many people enjoying LIT, telling their friends and family and sharing their experience online.”
“We’ve seen a real sense of pride in our City and in the quality of events we have here are coming through in that feedback.”
“LIT was designed to support our hospitality sector and late-night economy and the streets have been buzzing. It’s been great to see thousands of people making a night of it with dinner at our local restaurants, takeaways, pubs and bars.”
“Wyndham City will also have an exciting range of events planned for 2024,” Cr McIntyre said.
Wyndham City’s free, light-based experience LIT, ran from 17 – 26 March, 8pm – 11pm in Wyndham Park, Werribee.
The program featured a high-energy laser show, rainbow sky canopy, light-drenched trees, a pulsing light lawn, interactive projections, a magical nature trail and a range of interactive installations.
