The Small Business Growth Strategy 2026 sets out the priorities and objectives for government and the private sector to support small business growth in Tasmania.
Under this program, grants of between $10,000 and $50,000 are available to fund the delivery of new projects that align with the themes of the Small Business Growth Strategy 2026. These themes are:
People and connections Place Enabling business TechnologyEach application must address how the project relates to one of these Small Business Growth Strategy themes. Projects must also align with one of the following streams:
Stream 1: Research and feasibility studies
Stream 2: Workplace capability
Stream 3: Scaling up/business growth
The Small Business Growth Strategy 2026 is available on the Business Tasmania website and applicants should read the themes and associated objectives before applying.
Applications are open to both Tasmanian businesses and Tasmanian organisations such as chambers of commerce and/or peak industry bodies.
The intent of this grant program is to support the delivery of projects delivered by small businesses and organisations with 19 or less Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employees.
Grant amounts for business applicants are dependent on the annual sales turnover of the businesses in the financial year 2021-22. All applicants will be required to contribute at least one third of the total project costs, this can be either/or as in‑kind support or cash.

Please note: this is a competitive grant program, submitting an application will not automatically result in a grant being received. No application will be assessed until after the closing date.
Applicants who are successful in receiving funding must commence their project/s by 30 May 2023 and complete the project/s on or before 30 May 2024.
