A new easy walking Collie heritage trail that complements the Collie Mural Trail is now complete. The heritage trail was funded through Lotterywest and follows 21 sites of historical interest as it weaves its way from the Goods Shed, through town, along the river and back along Throssell Street to the railway footbridge. The trail is 2.8km long and passes some of the mural sites, so visitors can enjoy both art and history along the same walk.
Hard copy maps are available from the Collie Visitors Center or the walk can be followed using the Collie Wambenger Trails App. Each heritage site is marked with a plaque that has a unique QR code that when scanned provides information on each site.
The Shire of Collie thanks those community groups and members involved in sharing information on Collie’s long history as well as building owners for allowing the installation of the plaques.
