Baw Baw Shire Council is undertaking a review and update of its Road Safety Strategy and encouraging all road users to share their feedback and experiences to help improve road safety throughout the Shire.
The ultimate goal of the Road Safety Strategy is to achieve zero annual deaths on Baw Baw Shire roads by 2050. It aims to do so by understanding how and where road incidents occur and how best these can be managed to improve the safety for all drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
A renewed draft Strategy has been developed and is now available for community review and feedback. It has been developed using local crash data, reviews of road safety practices from around the world and input from road safety experts.
The consultation period is open until 5.00pm on Friday 12 May 2023.

"It is well understood by Council and residents of Baw Baw Shire that we have more and more vehicles and pedestrians using our roads each day and we all play a crucial role in maintaining the safety for all our road users.
Our Draft Road Safety Strategy and associated Action Plan details where the risks lie within our roads and and how best these can be minimised with the goal of eliminating all deaths and serious injuries.
We’re inviting all residents to provide us with their feedback on these important documents via email or the short survey on Council’s website."
