UPDATED Public notice: Upcoming round-a-bout speed cushion installation – Emerald

Please be advised that round-a-bout works will take place on Wednesday 10 May 2023 between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm, adjacent to the Borilla/Loch Street intersection.

Speed cushions will be placed approximately 6 m from the holding line on each leg to slow vehicles down as they approach the round-a-bout. These works are in response to six reportable accidents which have occurred at this intersection in recent years.

The retrofit recycled rubber speed cushions were selected for this site as they can be easily removed from the site if they are found to be unsuitable. Rubber speed cushions were also the preferred option as they are known to reduce noise, when compared to the conventional speed humps.
