Community opinions are being sought on what Isaac Regional Council should focus on now and for the future.
Residents, businesses, and community groups across all corners of the Isaac region will share their thoughts to help develop the next 2024-2029 Corporate Plan.
Mayor Anne Baker said the community engagement will influence the long-term vision, medium-term goals, and short-term priorities of the Isaac region.
“The Corporate Plan helps inform decision-making and guides Council’s agenda and that’s why it’s so important the community gives their feedback and support as it significantly influences the strategic direction,” Mayor Baker said.
“Isaac’s future is set for a massive renovation as our economy adapts to global transformations in the mining, renewable and agricultural industries.
“This is the community’s chance to lead the conversation and create a legacy where we can take advantage and be bold advocates for our region.
“This plan shares our visions and aspirations for the future and outlines how we will work towards a bright future, so help shape the region that we are proud to call home.”
The draft plan is made up of six key areas which include:
Leading and enabling a changing world. Engaged communities. Inclusive growth for a progressive economy. Liveability through design and infrastructure. Vibrant natural assets. Governance for accountability.Consultation will be in person around the region at various events and all members of the community are invited to have their say online at https://speakup.isaac.qld.gov.au/corporate-plan or by contacting their local Council community relationship officer at any Council office or library.
