Treat your mum or that someone special in your life to a high tea with a difference on Mother's Day.
Bonegilla Migrant Experience is hosting Mother’s Day High Tea and Self-guided Music Tour, a spectacular selection of afternoon treats followed by a tour around the beautiful historic grounds, discovering hidden musicians performing songs inspired by the true shared stories of migrants.
Team Leader Bonegilla Migrant Experience, Shelley Knight, said the event was a great chance for people to enjoy the culture of the historical site while being treated to a delicious high tea and live music.
"The historic grounds here offer a beautiful backdrop to the music we will have playing as people make their way around the site," she said.
"You can really be swept away by the natural acoustics of the buildings.
"Visitors will enjoy a specially curated selection of music inspired by the true shared stories of migrants, immigrants and refugees."
The day starts with a selection of high tea favourites with views overlooking the historic grounds of Block 19, the last remaining block of the original migrant camp.
Then make your way around the site on a self-guided tour accompanied by the sound of live music.
The event will run from 2pm to 4pm and features a moving program that will be highlighted by a curated short film presenting archival footage and images of the original migrant camp and its residents.
