About the proposal

The Shire has received an application for Development Approval for an Industry Extractive and Extractive Industry Licence to extract sand from Lot 148 (168) Skippings Road Boyanup. Given the estimated cost of the development the Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) will be determining the application.

The development involves:

• Extracting sand from an area of 13.23ha. • Works to be staged over 8 stages.; • Zero setbacks to multiple use wetlands. • Removal of vegetation on south western edge of extractive area. • Haulage of materials through a multiple use wetland. • Access using existing cross over onto Skippings Road (gravel constructed road).
