Following an extensive recruitment process, it was resolved at Council’s Extraordinary Council Meeting today, to officially appoint a new General Manager for Moree Plains Shire Council.
Council is excited to announce the appointment of the new General Manager, Kelvin Tytherleigh.
Kelvin is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hinchinbrook Shire Council in Far North Queensland, a position he has held for the last three years.
Kelvin's appointment as General Manager will commence in mid-June 2023 for a period of five years.
Moree Plains Shire Council is his third appointment as a Council General Manager, and he has considerable experience in regional and rural areas.
Mayor Mark Johnson commented that “Council is looking forward to working with Kelvin, in this important role as General Manager and utilising his expertise”.
“My fellow Councillors and I would like to thank our current General Manager, Nick Tobin for all his hard work and leadership while he undertook the twelve-month placement as General Manager for Council.
Kelvin comes qualified with several tertiary qualifications including a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Married to Anne, together they have three children and two grandchildren.
Kelvin remarked, “I am delighted to join the Moree team; Anne and I cannot wait to move to Moree and become part of the community”.
