His work charted new territory for disco music by merging electronic synthesisers and traditional orchestrations in a way that hadn’t been heard before. His contribution to music has been immense and his songs have been sampled by the likes of Daft Punk, Public Enemy, Run DMC, Paul McCartney and Bob Sinclar.Five decades on, Cerrone is right at home in the current disco revival, still being booked at the biggest festivals in the world and playing DJ sets to a new legion of young fans.
