Burnie Print Prize 2023 - short listed artists announced!

The Burnie Print Prize for 2023 received a record number of submissions (185).  Our judges have considered all submissions and a short list of 66 works has been selected for inclusion in the Burnie Print Prize exhibition.  All artists have now been contacted.  Please see the full list of short listed artists attached.

The Burnie Print Prize 2023 exhibition will open on Friday 21 July at 6pm, when all winners will be announced, and will be on display until Friday 8 September.

Good luck to all our selected artists! It's going to be a fabulous exhibition and we can't wait to see it!

The Burnie Print Prize

The Burnie Print Prize presents the best works from established, emerging and cross-disciplinary artists. We welcome all artists living and working in Australia to enter a print or an artist’s book created utilising any printing process. Offering a prize pool of $22,000 the winner will take home $16,000 cash.

The Burnie Print Prize was established in 2007 to:

Develop the Gallery's print collection Present the best of contemporary printmaking Support artists who work with the print medium Foster innovation in the print medium Promote an appreciation of the fine art of printmaking Recognize and celebrate craftsmanship Explore possibilities of the medium in contemporary practice
