The Role:
Our Compliance Investigation Officer delivers building and planning compliance and advisory services to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and take or recommend appropriate action to be taken on behalf of Council. Additionally, this position will assist with the annual Trade Waste inspection program.
What we are looking for:
You will have a trade qualification or substantial experience in building construction or in a compliance related position You will have extensive experience in the building construction industry in particular sheds and dwellings You will have a strong understanding of the current laws and policies relating to building and development, including interpretation of Planning Schemes and the associated documentation pertaining to the Building Act 1975 and Building Code of Australia You will have the ability to act and think appropriately under pressure You will have very good organisational, time management and problem-solving skills You will have very good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate positive outcomes with external customers You will hold a Queensland Construction White Card, or national equivalent, or be eligible to acquireWhat we can offer you:
