Lithgow City Council is calling for tenders from licensed and experienced contractors to undertake restoration works on Portland’s Kremer Park Grandstand. Contractors can access tender documents by registering with Council’s tendering platform, VendorPanel, www.vendorpanel.com.au/marketplace. Local building contractors, with experience managing subcontractors, are encouraged to review the documents.
Works to repair the historically significant Kremer Park Grandstand are funded by the NSW Government’s Resources for Regions program.
“The people of Portland are rightfully proud of their town, with so many community buildings displaying a vibrant heritage”, said Lithgow City Council’s Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham. “This project will include repairs to the building’s timber elements, replacement of cladding, and roofing and drainage upgrades. Understanding the decades of history the grandstand represents, it is important that this project is completed with sensitivity, ensuring it is restored back to its former glory.”
“Local procurement is a long-standing objective of this Council,” continued Mayor Statham. “I encourage Lithgow’s skilled tradesmen and women to apply.”
The grandstand is a significant feature of Portland’s Kremer Park, and Lithgow City Council looks forward to delivering this restored building to the community. An on-site tender briefing will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, 6 June 2023 to provide further information.
