Works update – 1 June 2023

Drainage crews are currently working on Toonumbar, Wender, Deep Creek, The Risk, Bennetts, and Kyogle roads.

Once these jobs are complete, the crews will move to Green Pigeon, Afterlee, Bottle Creek, and Woods roads.

Grading crews are undertaking unsealed road flood repairs on Stringy Bark, Murrays Scrub, Old Lawrence, Sargents, Homeleigh, Back Creek, Tunglebung Creek, and Smiths Creek roads.  The next roads on the list are Boundary Creek, Oxbow, Buchanans, and O’Neill roads.

The remediation of the Clarence Way between Urbenville and Woodenbong is expected to be finished tomorrow. Council’s other sealed road construction crews are currently extending the seal on Collins Creek Road and completing flood repairs on Kyogle streets.

Work on Kyogle Road also is nearing completion.

Council is patching potholes on Clarence Way and Homeleigh Road. Upcoming roads to be targeted include Gradys Creek and Kyogle roads.

On the bridge construction front, our crews are working on new bridges on Collins Valley Road,  Boomi Creek Road, MacQueens Road, Montgomerys Road, and Slaters Road. Montgomerys Road Bridge should be open to traffic within the next week.

Contractors are working on new bridges on Old Cob O Corn Road, Baileys Bridge Road, and Tims Lane.

The starting date for the repair of three major landslips on Lions Road has been pushed back to late July due to contractor availability.  Council is continuing to work on landslips on Atkins, Horseshoe Creek, Back Creek, and Kyogle roads.

Repairs to the landslip on Hayes Road were recently completed.
