Council repairs unauthorised modifications to MTB trails

Redland City Council has received reports of unauthorised modifications to the mountain biking (MTB) trail features at Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area in Mount Cotton.

These modifications pose significant safety risks to riders.

Trails affected by the unauthorised modifications include Powerful Howl and Rise Over Run.

Council crews have begun immediate works to improve the conditions, allow the trails to remain open and to ensure the safety of all trail users.

However, riders should exercise extreme caution this weekend.

Council will perform a comprehensive inspection of the entire trail network.
