Warm Winter Read returns

Published on 06 June 2023

The Gannawarra Library Service is supporting a popular Public Libraries Victoria initiative that encourages adult readers to track the number of days they read during winter.

Following the success of last year’s initiative, the Warm Winter Read program is underway and now goes for three months.

As part of the initiative, participants will go into the running to win prizes by logging how often they read between now and Thursday, 31 August.

“The Warm Winter Read program is a great way to develop the habit of reading or for those who read regularly, to track how many times they read each week,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

Residents wanting to participate can do so by visiting https://plv.beanstack.org to create a Beanstack account. Participants can record when they read via this website or by downloading the Beanstack app from the Apple Store or Google Store.

Those who cannot participate via Beanstack can collect a flyer from their local Gannawarra Library Service branch to track their reading.

“Our friendly Gannawarra Library Service staff can also assist if you are stuck finding your next book to read,” Mr Rollinson said.
