Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group Are you passionate about reconciliation in our Shire? Do you have tangible and innovative ideas on how Council can better empower Aboriginal people through Council’s activities and programs?  

Then nominate your interest to our Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group by Sunday 18 June 2023 by completing the EOI form 

The Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group will be responsible for: · Working with Council to develop the Reconciliation Action Plan, including facilitating community engagement with Aboriginal communities across the Shire · Driving implementation on the Plan, by being a liaison between Council and the Aboriginal community on Plan activities  · Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on progress to Councillors and community. 

The Reconciliation Action Plan is a tool Council uses to formalise its commitment to reconciliation. Based on the pillars of relationships, respect and opportunities, the Plan will help Council focus on developing and strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, engaging staff and stakeholders in reconciliation, and developing and piloting innovative strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the Moree Plains Shire.
