Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2022 Annual Report has been recognised at the 2023 Australasian Reporting Awards, claiming a Silver Award.
Announced on 15 June in Sydney, the awards recognise annual reports developed by government agencies and private companies from Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
“Receiving a Silver Award for a fifth consecutive year in these prestigious awards is a credit to the staff who put together the 2022 Annual Report, which is a record of Council’s achievements during 2021/22,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“The silver classification recognises quality coverage of most of the ARA criteria; satisfactory disclosure of key aspects of its business; and outstanding disclosure in at least one major area.”
The 2022 Annual Report featured Council’s achievements, including major capital works projects completed, major grants received, highlights and how Council engaged with the community.
The document also includes information prescribed by the Local Government Act 2020, together with the audited financial statements for the 2021/22 financial year.
“The 2022 Annual Report is presented in an easy to read format, which enables readers to see how Council is supporting our community and achieving outcomes that aligns to the strategic priorities identified in the Growing Gannawarra 2021-2025 Council Plan,” Mr Rollinson said.
