Two apartment developments in North Fremantle are among the first to benefit from the state government’s $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund.
The Freeman Residences development at Leighton Beach and the Serai development on McCabe Street, North Fremantle will share in $1.41m of funding for water, wastewater and electricity infrastructure costs. The two developments will add another 141 apartments to Fremantle.
Fremantle mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge welcomed the support for developers in the City.
“This is a great result for Fremantle particularly in such a tight construction market,” she said.
“We are very keen to unlock density in our area and any steps that can be taken to support development done responsibly are just what we need.
“The $1.41 million of infrastructure support also demonstrates how Fremantle readily meets the criteria for the fund.”
