The City of Rockingham will be delivering a series of intersection upgrades throughout the Rockingham Foreshore area to improve road safety, with work expected to commence in late June, subject to favourable weather.
Six intersections on Wanliss Street and Alexandra Street will be upgraded, with a combination of raised plateaus and compact roundabouts to be constructed in several locations.
The project is the result of a collaboration between the City and Main Roads Western Australia (through the low cost Urban Road Safety Program), and will improve safety by reducing vehicle speeds and improving visibility for motorists. Community consultation about the upgrades was undertaken in March 2023.
The raised plateaus and compact roundabouts will be built within the existing roadway and there will be no changes to kerb alignments.
