Council has released an Expression of Interest (EOI) for employment opportunities in the water utilities team.
From entry-level positions straight through to senior-level engineers and managers, there is a critical need for recruits eager to dip their toes in.
With water networks that cover an area of approximately 60,000 square kilometres, the Central Highlands is a large region that provides water utility employees with the opportunity to travel and explore 13 unique towns in a beautiful rural setting.
‘There’s something about the Central Highlands that pulls at the heartstrings,’ said General Manager Infrastructure and Utilities Jason Hoolihan.
‘I moved to Emerald from Mackay almost 20 years ago and haven’t looked back since.
‘It’s a wonderful place to raise a family, with a friendly atmosphere where my two sons have been active in school and sports.
‘Working at the council has given me security, the opportunity to learn, progress in my career, and the ability to prioritise my family.
‘The water utilities team at CHRC truly care about each other and work together to do things the right way for our communities,’ he continued’
When you work for water, you know you’re making a difference. You’ll be helping to provide the basic need of clean water to both rural town hubs and the small remote communities of Central Queensland that may often get overlooked but are vital to our local economy.
Whether you have experience in water utilities or not, tap into your potential with council’s water team. Fill out the EOI and tell us about your best traits. We can make it work for you.
