Works update – 26 June 2023
Kyogle Council News 26 Jun 2023

Grading crews are undertaking unsealed road flood repairs on Blackhorse, Pagans Flat, Oxbow, Boundary Creek, and Ghinni Ghi roads. The next roads on the list are Gabal, Tallowood, Vidlers, Afterlee and Iron Pot Creek roads before we head to the Duck Creek Road and Paddys Flat catchments to finish up the gravel road flood repairs.

Council’s construction crews are working on:

• Deep Creek Road;

• The initial seal on the second section of Collins Creek Road;

• Heavy patching on the State Highways (this crew will be working on the highways until mid-August when they will return to Kyogle Road).

Council is patching potholes on Clarence Way, Gradys Creek and Kyogle roads.

Crews continue to work on the new bridges on Duck Creek (two), Roseberry Creek and Boorabee Creek roads.

Work is nearing completion on the new MacQueens Road bridge, and work has been completed on the Slaters Road bridge. Those two crews are moving to Williams Road and Trentys Lane.

Contractors continue to work on new bridges on Old Cob O Corn Road, Baileys Bridge Road, and Tims Lane. Council hopes the Tims Lane and Old Cob O Corn Road bridges will be open in late July.

Repairs to landslips on Atkins, Horseshoe Creek and Back Creek roads have been completed. Work is continuing on landslips on Kyogle, Lynches Creek, Gradys Creek and Williams roads.

Work on three of the major landslips on Lions Road is expected to start in July. The road will remain open under traffic control while the work is carried out.

Council has so far completed the remediation of 31 of the 105 landslips which occurred on out road network following the February/March 2022 floods.
