Report unusual flying-fox behaviour
Kyogle Council News 27 Jun 2023

Two large camphor laurel trees will be removed from within the Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park as part of Council’s Kyogle Flying-fox Camp Management Plan.

The work is expected to take two days, however the Caravan Park will be closed from Monday, 26 June for a week, reopening on Saturday, 1 July 2023.

Kyogle Council has timed these works so that the impacts to the nearby flying-fox camp will be at its lowest. Council will monitor the camp throughout the on-ground works, and we are also asking community members to contact Council if they observe unusual flying-fox behaviour.

Should you observe unusual flying-fox behaviour or daytime sightings during the period these works are taking place, please contact Council’s Senior Environmental Services Officer on 0447 667 935.

If you find a bat injured or on the ground, please do not touch the bat; call one of these wildlife rescue organisations (24 Hours Rescue):
