Wyndham City is proud to announce Emily Leahy as the One Wyndham recipient for July.
Emily is conscientious and passionate about supporting young people. She is working towards completing a Certificate 4 in Youth Work so she can help young people in Wyndham.
Emily’s dedication and contribution to the Youth Advisory Panel, part of Headspace, has ensured that young people’s ideas and thoughts have been heard. Her involvement has improved her communication and ongoing development.
Balancing her work at Headspace with studying and working in hospitality and child care has been challenging and Emily has shown ongoing determination.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said: “Wyndham City and the wider community appreciates the contribution Emily has made to our City.”
“Emily’s passion for civic engagement through the Youth Advisory Panel at Headspace helps make sure young people’s voices are heard.”
“Emily is a positive role model and has shown commitment and dedication to assisting events and activities for young people in Wyndham.”
One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
