Artists still have the chance to share in a $20,000 prize pool with entries for the GROUNDED YP Art Festival exhibition extended to Friday, 14 July.
While entries close at midnight on 14 July, physical artwork isn’t required until August.
Open and school categories include painting, sculptures and photography.
Each applicant can submit up to three pieces in the open category for $20 per work, with the works to be displayed for sale and judging.
All works entered are eligible for prizes, with more than $20,000 in prize money up for grabs across the different categories.
Students are also encouraged to participate in the school categories which is free to enter.
“With school holidays now in effect, now is the perfect time for kids to get imaginative and create something for the exhibition,” Yorke Peninsula Council Arts and Cultural Facilitator Sonya Rankine said.
“This is an exciting opportunity for artists to showcase their talents and to win some serious prize money.
“Artists can enter up to three pieces so why not maximise your chances at taking out the grand prize.”
The GROUNDED YP Art Festival, which replaces the former YP Art Exhibition, will be a 10-day event featuring original exhibitions plus a range of added festivities.
The festival will be held across the peninsula from Friday, 11 August, to Sunday, 20 August, having previously been held during Easter.
“The August-based festival will be part of the renowned and celebrated state-wide South Australia Living Artists Festival,” Ms Rankine said.
“There will be something for everyone with music, dance, performing arts, First Nations Narungga food, art and culture, artisan foods, beverages, products and more.”
