The Burnie City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest appointment to Council’s Audit Panel as an independent member.
The primary objective of the Audit Panel is to assist Council in providing a transparent and independent process in its financial management and to ensure accountability to the community in governance, management and allocation of resources.
Applicants must have an understanding of the principles of good organisational governance; internal and external audit operations; and risk management principles.
Management experience and functional knowledge in the areas of performance management; human resource management; management control frameworks; financial internal controls; governance and oversight of business operations is essential.
Applicants must have a capacity to form independent judgements and willingness to constructively question management practices and information in a respectful way.
Expressions of interest must provide details of the applicant’s experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications that will enable them to undertake the role.
