A $1.628 million Wyndham City retrofit of the Little River Reserve sporting pavilion is now complete.

Works included extending the existing pavilion and delivering two new changerooms, two new umpire rooms, a first aid room, an external storeroom and public toilet, and upgrading the existing toilets to make them accessible for all abilities.

The project also included an upgrade of the water and power supply to the pavilion and two new Disability Discrimination Act compliant car parks.

Wyndham City Active City portfolio holder Cr Peter Maynard said these works would provide the Little River Community and Sports Centre new and upgraded sporting facilities to help boost participation in sport.

“As our population continues to grow, it’s important that our community facilities keep pace – and the Little River Reserve Pavilion retrofit will give this community the infrastructure it needs to enjoy active and healthy lives,” Cr Maynard said.

“This comes two years after Wyndham City completed a $450,000 redevelopment of the Little River Tennis Courts and, like the courts, will be a great asset for the community.”

“The Little River Pavilion upgrade forms part of an ongoing Wyndham City program to upgrade 14 sporting pavilions across Wyndham.”

“This program provides our sporting clubs with a new home and allow for more use by community groups, schools and non-for-profit organisations during non-peak times.”
