Play time just got better at Werribee’s Conquest Drive Reserve, with a $240,000 upgrade now complete.
Improvements include a new half basketball court, new playground, fitness equipment, upgraded kickabout lawn, gazebo refurbishment, BBQ upgrade with additional shelter and picnic setting replacement, additional trees and garden beds, lighting and more.
Wyndham City’s Active City portfolio holder, Councillor Peter Maynard, said the works have broadened the play experience for children of all ages and enhanced the facilities that Conquest Drive Reserve offers the community.
“Creating better parks and public spaces is a priority for Council, and the Conquest Drive Reserve upgrade is one example of where we’re delivering better parks and open spaces for residents to get out, enjoy and keep active,” Cr Maynard said.
“This Wyndham City project is part of Council’s Parks Asset Renewal Program, an annual program that transforms ageing parks into new and improved spaces that better meet the community’s needs.”
“Other parks to be recently completed under this program include Burgundy Drive Reserve in Wyndham Vale and Nangiloc Crescent Reserve in Werribee.”
“Meanwhile, the finishing touches are being added to an upgrade of Truganina’s Aquarius Drive Reserve that includes an improved kick-about space, an expanded and upgraded path network, nature play and more, with all work to be completed next month.”
