To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council’s Wednesday 12 July Council meeting.
Petitions Stop Waterford Rise TrafficA petition with 45 signatories has been submitted to Council concerning traffic in Waterford Rise, Warragul. Calling for the introduction of traffic restrictions and speed humps/chicanes on Crole Drive.
This was moved by Cr Goss for Council to;
Report to Council on this matter no later than four Council Meetings time. Advise the lead petitioner of the Council Meeting date that the Officer Response will be presented. Planning and Development Burnnett Court, Longwarry Re-NamingCouncil moved to;
Endorse the re-naming of the east section of Burnnett Court from number 2/2,14-32. Commence the formal re-naming process. Governance and Information Services Complaints Handling PolicyCouncil moved to adopt the revised Complaints Handling Policy.
MAV State Council- Call for MotionsCr Jones moved a proposal for Council to consider motions for submission to the MAV State Council Meeting on 13 October 2023. This was seconded by Cr Leaney.
General Business motion response - Councillor ExpensesCouncil was briefed on the expenses incurred by Councillors during the 2020 - 2024 term, in response to the General Business Motion raised by Councillor Goss on 10 May 2023. This was moved by Cr Goss and seconded by Cr Firdous.
Notices of Motion Recognised Public DaysCr Firdous raised a motion to request a report to Council by 13 September 2023 on Council's support for community and public days/weeks and programs for action. This was seconded by Cr Tauru.
General Business Item CEO General Business Item- Defer Petition Response Reopen Weebar Road North-Bound, DrouinThis procedural motion requesting an extension of time on the petition response was moved by Cr Leaney and seconded by Cr Jones.
Mayoral MinuteMayor McCabe used her Mayoral Minute to reflect on NAIDOC week and thanked all those involved in bringing the event together.
