Apply now to become an outdoor swimming pool lifeguard

Applications to join Gannawarra Shire Council’s team of Outdoor Pool Lifeguards for the 2023/24 swimming pool season are now open.

The team will oversee operations at the Council-managed Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools for the 2023/24 season, which will run from 13 November 2023 to 11 March 2024.

“Being an Outdoor Pool Lifeguard is great role, no matter what age you are. It is a role that provides the opportunity to meet new people, build your skills and enjoy our great summer weather,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

Applications are open to anyone aged 16 years and over, with Life Saving Victoria Lifeguard training, first aid training and accreditation provided free of charge.

“Our flexible rosters mean that you can work and still have time to enjoy your summer, with shifts covering weekdays, evenings and weekends,” Mr Rollinson said.

“Previous team members have used the skills gained from working with our team to assist with future career and leadership opportunities.”
