Community groups seeking funding for projects, events or activities are encouraged to consider applying for support via Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2023 Community Grants Program.
Applications for this popular program are now open and will be accepted up to 4pm Thursday, 31 August.
“A key feature of Council’s 2023/24 Budget, Council’s Community Grants Program supports efforts by our community groups to foster social connections and improve facilities,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.
“Projects and initiatives that have successfully received funding previously include community festivals, facility upgrades, shade sail installation, signage upgrades and storage solutions.”
As part of Council’s 2023/24 Budget, $80,000 has been allocated to support the program’s two streams:
Community Event: Up to $5,000 per application to support local events. Community Support: Up to $5,000 per application to support local projects and activities.“Successful projects need to align with the Growing Gannawarra – 2021-2025 Council Plan and/or other Council strategies which will contribute to the Gannawarra and support our community’s long-term vision,” Mayor Gillingham said.
