Youth in Local Government Forum (Western Suburbs)

The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) is organising informative forums in Mandurah, Stirling, and the Western Suburbs. These forums are designed for young individuals who are interested in exploring the possibility of running for local councillor positions.

During these forums, attendees will have the opportunity to:

Gain insight into the responsibilities of local government elected members. Understand the critical issues addressed by local government and the decision-making process of councillors. Learn about the nomination process for local government positions. Discover effective strategies for running a successful local government campaign.

In addition, participants will have the chance to interact with local young or youth-friendly councillors and address technical questions to the Department of Local Government, Sports, and Cultural Industries.

The forum for the Western Suburbs is scheduled for Thursday, 10 August 2023 from 6pm to 8pm. It will take place at The Grove Library, 1 Leak St, Peppermint Grove WA 6011.
