Outstanding community event receives top distinction at Australia Day Awards

Springsure’s Working Horse Association (SWHA) committee volunteers were honoured to be awarded for community event of the year at the Central Highland Regional Council’s Australia Day Awards 2023.
The event, The Australian Campdraft Association (ACA) Golden Anniversary National Finals in 2022, saw over 400 competitors flock to Springsure to compete.
Springsure swelled overnight with visitors and spectators, all vying for a position to see award winning cutting events and campdrafting on display.
The SWHA was one of 2 community groups nominated for this award.
‘These committees tirelessly work to make our community the best it can be, a true testament to community spirit,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes at the Australia Day Awards ceremony.
