City of Parramatta has reviewed traffic and parking conditions in Sandringham Drive and noted that this street is 7.7m wide and if there is parking on both sides of the street, Sandringham Drive provides a single travel lane for 2-way traffic movement. As this street is near Carlingford West Public School and the school community use this street for set-down and pick-up purposes, Sandringham Drive (between Felton Road and Barons Avenue) becomes a traffic gridlock during school peak hours.

To reduce traffic congestions, it is proposed to install a part-time or full-time travel restriction in Sandringham Drive as detailed in the options below and in Figure 1:

Option 1:    Install ‘No Entry; 3pm-4pm School Days’ restriction in Sandringham Drive east of Barons Avenue, Carlingford (Refer to Figure 1 below). Note that in this option, the street will operate as a two-way street.

Option 2:    Install ‘One Way’ (south and westbound) restriction in Sandringham Drive between Felton Road and Barons Avenue, Carlingford.

Option 3:    No change to existing conditions

In addition to travel restriction, Council is also proposing to install a ‘No Parking 3pm-4pm School Days’ restriction on the east side of Sandringham Drive south of Felton Road, Carlingford (outside 88 Felton Road). The purpose of this restriction is to provide set-down and pick-up area for the school community.
