The objectives of Volunteer Grants are to: *help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers *help community organisations to support the inclusion of vulnerable people through volunteering *encourage, support and increase participation in volunteering.

The latest round of Volunteer Grants are now open in Grey.

Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available for eligible community organisations to support the work of their volunteers.  Funding for items includes small equipment, transport costs for volunteers with a disability, fuel costs incurred by volunteers, training for volunteers, background screen checks for volunteers, promoting awareness and participation by volunteers.

Get the  Expression of Interest Form here and it  needs to be returned by email to [email protected] or by post to PO Box 296 Port Pirie by no later than 5pm Thursday 31st August 2023.

(Electronic completion is preferred however it can be printed and completed manually if unable to do so). No late forms will be accepted.

Please note that it is expected there will be substantial interest in this grant and each electorate has only been allocated $66,225 worth of projects to nominate. Unfortunately there are usually many more projects than there is funding available.

If your project is selected a nomination will be made by Rowan and you will be advised of this in early November when online applications open (details of how to do this will be provided at the time).  You will also be advised if your Expression of Interest is not successful around this time.

The Department of Social Services will then assess applications for their eligibility and advise of the outcome by April 2024.

Further information can be found in the guidelines or by calling the Community Grants Hub on 1800 020 283  or by email [email protected]
