Council is seeking input from local sport and recreation groups for a Colac Otway Sport and Recreation Survey.
General Manager Community and Economy Ian Seuren said the survey aimed to gather information to help Council better plan for the needs of our local sporting groups.
“We love our sport in Colac Otway, the aim of the survey is to gather information on the requirements of local sporting groups to help inform Council’s planning to support our community to continue to be active and healthy,” Mr Seuren said.
Sport and recreation groups will be asked to complete a survey to provide information on use of facilities in Colac Otway.
“We’ll be asking groups to complete a survey to help us understand the usage of the shire’s sporting infrastructure, such as pavilions, courts and reserves,” he said.
“It’s also important for us to gather data on club participation and membership numbers including the background of users, as well as where and when our sporting facilities and reserves are being used.
“There are also opportunities in the survey for sporting groups to provide Council feedback on their needs so we can use this as a learning opportunity.
“All of this information will be valuable in terms of planning for future club development and support programs and funding applications to ensure we’re on the right track to addressing the needs and expectations of the Shire’s sport and recreation clubs,” Mr Seuren said.
The survey is now open and available to complete via the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NLKR52F
The survey closes at 5pm Friday 8 September and will become an annual way for Council to collect up-to-date information about our sporting clubs.
