Applications open for capital infrastructure grants
Redland City Council 14 Aug 2023

Redlands Coast organisations wanting to build, renovate or refurbish community facilities can apply for assistance through a Redland City Council Capital Infrastructure Grant.

Mayor Karen Williams said applications were now open through this year’s community grants program.

“Community organsations play an important role on Redlands Coast and these grants allow them to undertake vital projects that benefit both their members and the wider community,” Cr Williams said.

“The Capital Infrastructure Grant program not only aims to improve community facilities but also promotes collaboration and local partnerships, and boosts the local economy through new employment opportunities.

“It also helps improve the ability of organisations to deliver their services and improve access for people experiencing disadvantage or vulnerability.”

Cr Williams said 14 Redlands Coast organisations shared in more than $216,000 in capital infrastructure grants last year.

“This included funding to upgrade clubhouse change rooms, resurface a tennis court, replace guttering, renew sport field lighting, repair a roof, repaint a building, and upgrade audio, electrical and solar power systems,” she said.

“Council is now calling on organisations, who might need a helping hand, to apply for funding through this year’s funding round.”

Capital infrastructure grants are available in two categories:

Small capital funding up to $10,000, and Major capital funding from $10,001 up to $50,000 (applicants must make a 50 per cent financial cash contribution).

Applications close on Sunday 10 September 2023.
