Time is running out for community groups to seek funding for events, projects or activities from Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2023 Community Grants Program.
Applications for this popular program will close at 4pm Thursday, 31 August.
“Council has already received numerous applications for this program, which is a key feature of Council’s 2023/24 Budget,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.
“Our Community Grants program supports efforts by our community groups to foster social connections and improve facilities, with past examples of projects that have received support being community festivals, facility upgrades, shade sail installation, signage upgrades and storage solutions.”
As part of Council’s 2023/24 Budget, $80,000 has been allocated to support the program’s two streams:
Community Event: Up to $5,000 per application to support local events. Community Support: Up to $5,000 per application to support local projects and activities.“Successful projects need to align with the Growing Gannawarra – 2021-2025 Council Plan and/or other Council strategies which will contribute to the Gannawarra and support our community’s long-term vision,” Mayor Gillingham said.
