Celebrate all things spring and eco-friendly at the next Eco Market at Redlands IndigiScapes Centre on Saturday 2 September 2023.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the event was the perfect opportunity for getting friends or family together to celebrate the start of spring.
“There is always so much to see and do at these markets, which are set within the beautiful native botanic garden surrounds at IndigiScapes,” Cr Williams said.
“There will be the usual wide range of stalls offering sustainable products and fresh produce, plenty of food options, and free craft and nature activities for children.
“The September markets are held the day after National Wattle Day so there will be opportunities to discover more about our national floral emblem, the Golden Wattle.
“Ranger Stacey will be on stage throughout the day, chatting with Wattle Day Association vice president Michael Gilmour and with author Cate Storey, who publishes picture books about Australian marsupials and nocturnal animals.
“The suitcase rummage and rack sale is always popular and there will be opportunities to relax in the shade and listen to live music.”
Division 7 Councillor Rowanne McKenzie said IndigiScapes was the perfect location for the eco markets.
“The centre is set within 14 hectares of natural bush and aims to make visitors feel immersed in nature with its series of walking trails, native plants nursery, bush tastes at its café, and its environmental education resources,” Cr McKenzie said.
“There could not be a more perfect setting than IndigiScapes for regular open-air eco-friendly markets where the community can come together to learn more about sustainable lifestyle choices.”
The Eco Market will be held from 8am to midday on Saturday 2 September at Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, 17 Runnymede Road, Capalaba.
More information about the event, including a list of exhibitors, stall holders and food options, is available on Council’s website.
