The City of Fremantle is calling on the community to share their ideas and aspirations to help revitalise the Hilton Park Precinct.
The consultation will guide short, medium and long-term planning to transform the precinct into a vibrant sports and community hub.
A community barbecue on Saturday 26 August from 10am to 2pm at Dick Lawrence Oval Playspace will kick off a series of in-person engagement sessions.
The community can also have their say online via the City’s 'My Say Freo' website through an interactive mapping exercise.
The consultation will be used to create a new place plan and master plan for the precinct and guide future planning.
The Hilton Park Precinct is located in Beaconsfield and comprises Hilton Reserve, Ken Allen Field and Dick Lawrence Oval.
It’s home to a mix of sporting groups and community facilities including Fremantle City Football Club, Hilton Bicton Cricket Club, Hilton Park Bowling Club and the Fremantle Men’s Community Shed.
In June 2022 the City of Fremantle replaced the ageing play equipment at Dick Lawrence Oval with a new nature-play inspired playground and improved landscaping.
The engagement will help guide the creation of a place plan, which will be made available for public comment early next year.
Once approved, the place plan will be used to develop a master plan to lay out the concepts and preliminary costings for future upgrades.
Visit mysay.fremantle.wa.gov.au/hilton-park-precinct for more info and to have your say online by Sunday 3 September.
