End of transitional environmental program, Nebo Wastewater Treatment Plant

Isaac Regional Council advises residents that the transitional environmental program (TEP) at the

Nebo Wastewater Treatment Plant will come to an end on or before:

Wednesday, 1 November 2023

TEP is a specific program that, when approved, achieves compliance with the Environmental Protection Act 1994 – reducing environmental harm or detailing the transition to an environmental standard.

Nebo Wastewater Treatment Plant implemented the TEP as the recycled water exceeded the limits within the Environmental Authority. The TEP has been in place for three years.

Council have worked alongside industry stakeholders to restore the recycled water to the licensed limits and the treated water has remained suitable for short-term irrigation.
