People of all ages with disability are invited to sample the fun opportunities to play sport that will be on display this Saturday in Tarneit.
Wyndham City, in partnership with Sport4All, will showcase ‘come and try’ activities from athletics to basketball, lawn bowls to table tennis and more within a supportive environment at Tarneit P-9 college from 1pm to 3pm, on 2 September.
The Inclusive Multi Sport Fun Afternoon will give attendees the opportunity to speak to the clubs to find out more about the activities on offer and about the Sport4All program.
Wyndham Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said the program aimed to increase opportunities for people with disability to play sport and become involved in volunteer roles relating to sport.
“We know that clubs participating in the Inclusive Multi Sport Fun Afternoon are really keen to include people with disability in their activities and learn how they can offer more,” she said.
“As a Council we have been working with 14 sports clubs and 8 schools to enable increased inclusion of people with disability.”
“This is a great opportunity for people of all ages, from five-years-old and older, with disability and their families to come down and try some sporting activities and find out what they may enjoy.”
“We know that being active and taking part in sporting activities helps everyone improve their overall wellbeing.”
