Media Release: Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer

The Shire of Kent is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Christie Smith.

After an extensive search process, the appointment was made at a Special Meeting of Council held Friday 1 September 2023, Cr Scott Crosby, Shire President, said that Councillors were unanimous in their support of the appointment.

With over 23 years local government experience, Christie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Shire of Kent. Having come to the Shire of Kent in 2006 as Deputy CEO and fulfilling serval roles over the years, she is well-equipped to lead our community into a thriving and sustainable future.

“We believe that Christie possesses the vision and leadership qualities needed to guide our community towards continued growth and success,” said Cr Crosby.

Christie will officially assume the CEO role on 11 September 2023.
