Wyndham City has opened its Large Community Grants round this week, with grants of up to $40,000 available.
The grants are available to Incorporated Groups and not-for-profit organisations, including those that are auspiced and operating in Wyndham City.
Applicants who work towards increasing participation in community life, enhance the liveability, health, and wellbeing of the Wyndham community, improve the local environment and encourage or teach environmentally sustainable practices are invited to apply.
The applications are also expected to align with the objectives of important Wyndham City guiding documents such as the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision, Council Plan, Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and all other strategies and plans.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre, said that through these large grants Wyndham City was working towards creating a stronger and more connected community.
“We value increased opportunities for residents to live their best lives, support those who are feeling challenged and encourage those to broaden their community involvement,” Cr McIntyre said.
“There is a lot of great work being undertaken already and we look forward to seeing our community strengthened. The grants can be used to support initiatives that improve community life, health, wellbeing and the environment in addition to cultural events and activities.”
Prospective applicants will be supported through the application process if requested, and can attend a Large Grant Round Q & A Session on Monday 18 September, 10.30 - 11.30am.
