How to Vote in the Upcoming 2023 Ordinary Local Government Election

The Town of Cambridge has appointed the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) to conduct its 2023 Ordinary Local Government Election in October. This year community members will have the option of in-person voting, early voting and postal by application voting, which is the same as State and Federal Government elections. 

Early Voting 

Early voting will commence from the date of the State-wide public notice of the election. As soon as the notice is shared the Town will communicate that early voting has commenced via our website and social media channels. This is anticipated to be around mid-September.

Early voting locations: 

Town of Cambridge Administration Centre, 1 Bold Park Drive, Floreat  Cambridge Library, 99 The Boulevard, Floreat

Early voting will be available on weekdays from 9.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

In Person Voting

In person voting will be available on Saturday 21 October 2023 at the following locations: 

Leederville Town Hall 84 Cambridge Street, West Leederville from 8.00am to 4.00pm. Wembley Community Centre 40 Alexander Street, Wembley from 8.00am to 6.00pm. The Boulevard Centre 99 The Boulevard, Floreat from 8.00am to 4.00pm. Town of Cambridge Admin Centre 1 Bold Park Drive Floreat from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Floreat Surf Life Saving Club West Coast Highway, City Beach from 8.00am to 4.00pm. Lake Monger Recreation Club 144 Gregory Street, Wembley from 8.00am to 4.00pm.  Postal Voting

To vote via postal voting you will need to complete an Application for Postal Voting Papers form before 17 October 2023.  The forms are available:   

Completed application forms can be submitted via: 

Email to [email protected] addressed to the Town’s Chief Executive Officer up until the 15 September 2023   Email to [email protected] after 15 September 2023 and before 17 October 2023 addressed to the WAEC’s Returning Officer   Post to PO Box 15 Floreat WA 6014, addressed to the Chief Executive Officer (before 15 September 2023)  Post to PO Box 15 Floreat WA 6014, addressed to the WAEC Returning Officer (15 September 2023 – 17 October 2023)   Dropping them off at the Town’s Administration building, Cambridge Library or Wembley Community Centre.  

The WAEC will then send postal voting papers to all electors who have applied for a postal vote after the election notice is published.  

You can cast your postal vote by following the instructions included in your election package as soon as you receive your postal voting papers.
