A Barossa delegation will touch down in Texas next week to cement a new Sister-City relationship with the City of Grapevine.
It comes after Council hosted a contingent from Grapevine during the Barossa Vintage Festival in April, recognising the two regions’ mutual interest in wine, heritage, events and cultural tourism.
Mayor Bim Lange will be joined on the tour by Acting CEO Jo Moen, Barossa Australia representatives and Barossa wine ambassadors between 12 and 18 September.
Mayor Lange said the visit presents many exciting opportunities, with the aim of strengthening economic, cultural and educational ties between the two regions.
The whirlwind itinerary will include visits to arts and cultural precincts, wineries, education districts and civic facilities, and marks the beginning of new friendships and understanding with our international counterparts.
The Sister City agreement will be formally ratified at the 37th annual Grapefest, the largest wine festival in the Southwest.
