From Tuesday 19 September, Baw Baw Shire Council’s in-person customer service functions will reopen in Warragul at West Gippsland Arts Centre.
Located within the Arts Centre, a new dedicated customer service counter will operate next to the box office every weekday from 10am to 4pm.
“Although there has been a huge shift towards online customer service, especially in the wake of COVID-19, we know that many residents prefer face-to-face interactions with Council and we believe it is important to offer that option,” says Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe. “That’s why we are so pleased to reopen our Warragul customer service functions with a new counter at the Arts Centre, in addition to existing Customer Service Centre in Drouin.”
Council’s Warragul customer service centre ceased face to face operations in late 2021 in response to COVID-19 health advice and State Government restrictions.
Once reopened, residents will have direct access to Council’s customer service staff for enquiries and payments, with no disruptions to the Arts Centre box office service.
“By providing in-person customer service centres in Drouin and Warragul, our two busiest community hubs, we are making it more accessible and convenient for our community to get in touch with us via their preferred method,” says Mayor McCabe. “Whether that is online, over the phone or in person, I encourage our residents to explore the most suitable option available for their individual needs.”
In addition to our Customer Service Centre in Drouin and Warragul, residents can raise general enquiries and get in contact with Council through a number of channels:
