The Gannawarra Library Service’s school holiday program is back this September, with three activities on offer to keep children entertained.
Occurring between 19-28 September, activities will occur at the service’s Cohuna, Kerang and Leitchville branches.
“Thanks to our dedicated staff, two weeks of events will keep children entertained, with places certain to fill up quickly,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
As part of the program, children aged six years and older will be able to make utility boxes at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library from 10.30am on Tuesday, 19 September and Tuesday, 26 September.
“The Gannawarra Library Service has worked with the Kerang Men’s Shed in developing the design and materials for the utility boxes, which can be used to hold items such as plants, make-up and treasures,” Mr Rollinson said.
School holiday fun will return to the service’s Leitchville branch on Tuesday, 19 September from 2.30pm, where children aged six years and older can make friendship bracelets. Similar sessions will also be held at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Wednesday, 27 September from 10.30am and at the Cohuna Library on Wednesday, 28 September from 2pm.
Meanwhile, children of all ages will be able to make popcorn blossom trees at the Cohuna Library on Wednesday, 20 September from 2pm and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 21 September from 10.30am.
Bookings for all activities are essential, with all children participating to be accompanied by an adult. For bookings or for more information, please phone (03) 5452 1546.
