September school holiday fun in the Macedon Ranges

Council is hosting a range of entertaining events and activities throughout the September school holidays including music and craft workshops, dancing, aquatic activities and more.

Aquatics activities – Gisborne Aquatic Centre and Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre will run intensive swimming programs during the holidays. To enrol in lessons, call 5421 1452 (Gisborne) or 5421 1477 (Kyneton).The pool inflatable featuring obstacles, climbing hills and slides, will also run on various days at both aquatic centres throughout the holidays. Dance holiday program – 18-20 September, 9am-12pm, Buffalo Sports Stadium Woodend. For children aged 6-12 years. Over three sessions, children will learn hip hop, acrobatic and acting skills in a fun and engaging environment with a qualified professional. Pottery workshop with Ian McColl – Tuesday 19 September, 1-3pm, Kyneton Youth Portable (behind Town Hall). Join us in a fun and creative arty workshop for young people aged 12-25 years. Zine workshop with Kelly Robson – Wednesday 20 September, 1pm-3pm, Kyneton Youth Portable (behind Town Hall). Join us in a creative workshop and learn about Council’s ‘Future Creations’ Zine created by young people for young people. Music Industry workshop – Tuesday 26 September, 10am-3:30pm, Kyneton Youth Portable (behind Town Hall). A one-day workshop for young people aged 12-18 years. Participants will learn all about live sound and help construct a PA system from its individual components, gaining skills and knowledge along the way. Youth Fest Open Mic Night & Exhibition – Thursday 28 September, 4pm-6pm, Kyneton Youth Portable (behind Town Hall). Come along and share your musical talents at our Open Mic & Exhibition Night and vote on the winner of our art competition. All young people aged 12-25 years are welcome. Hanging Rock exhibition and art competition – View the ‘Impacts of single-use plastics’ exhibition at the Hanging Rock Discovery Centre, and see the winning entries from the Hanging Rock Single-use Plastics Art Competition.
