2023/2024 Road Rehabilitation and Renewal Program

Work will soon begin on the City of Rockingham’s Road Rehabilitation and Renewal Program for 2023/2024, with 71 projects set to delivered across the community.
The program is a key part of the City’s overall asset management activities. It will begin in early October 2023, and conclude in late February 2024, subject to favourable weather conditions.
These works are delivered annually to ensure the City’s road network is maintained to appropriate standards that ensure safety and comfort for all road users.
Over the next five months the $3.9 million program will see the City resurface 16.2 km of local roads, covering approximately 111,000 square metres.
In conjunction with road resurfacing works, the City will also replace broken kerbing and upgrade stormwater drainage lids.
Key projects coming up will include: (please note the City has secured two thirds funding from Main Roads WA’s Metropolitan Regional Road Group scheme for all three projects listed).
Sixty Eight Road between Mandurah Road and Eighty Road ($641,842).Safety Bay Road between Arcadia Drive and June Road ($556,119).Malibu Road between Trade Winds Drive and Waikiki Road ($252,510).Mayor Deb Hamblin said these works were an important part of managing the City’s extensive road network, which is now more than 1,130 km long.
“The City’s annual Road Rehabilitation and Renewal Program helps to maintain local roads to a safe standard for road users, as well as extending their lifetime and reducing the potential for costly repairs,” Mayor Hamblin said.
